History
Rugby Club Toulonnais was founded in 1908 by players from three local clubs. Since 1920 it has played at the Stade Mayol, which it owes to the generosity of the singer Félix Mayol. It won its first French title in 1931, against Lyon, and two more in 1987 and 1992. Back from Pro D2 in 2008 — its second title at that level — after the star signings made under president Mourad Boudjellal, it became a European giant: under Bernard Laporte it won three European Cups in a row (2013, 2014, 2015), a first in the competition's history, plus the 2014 French title. It added the Challenge Cup in 2023, beating Glasgow 43–19 in Dublin.
