About the Nations Championship

The Nations Championship is World Rugby's new biennial competition, launched in 2026. Twelve teams take part: the Six Nations, the four Rugby Championship sides and Japan and Fiji. The Six Nations teams host the southern teams in the July window and travel south in November, before a finals weekend ranks the two groups against each other. 12 teams take part in the 2026 season.
