Information We Collect
RugbyScores.live collects minimal data to provide our service. This may include:
- Device and browser information
- Usage data and analytics
- Preferences (such as theme settings)
Cookies and local storage
The site itself sets no cookies. Your preferences — theme, language choice, favourite teams and competitions, the board filter and your answer to the analytics question — are kept in your browser's local storage, on your device only, and are never sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages and competitions are used. It runs only if you accept it in the bar shown on your first visit; until then nothing is loaded from Google. If you accept, Google sets its _ga cookies (up to two years) and receives anonymised usage data (IP anonymisation on). You can withdraw or give consent at any time on the settings page.
Rugby near you. On a first visit the site may suggest the competition played where you are. It asks our host which country (and, in the UK, which nation) your connection comes from, uses that for the one suggestion, and keeps nothing: only your answer — follow, or not now — is remembered, in your browser.
Match alerts. If you turn on notifications, your browser gives us an anonymous delivery address (a push subscription) and we store it, with the teams and competitions you follow and the moments you chose, for up to 180 days after your last visit — only to send those alerts. It cannot be tied to you and is deleted when you turn alerts off or your browser withdraws the subscription.
Page counts and speed. The site is hosted on Vercel, and we use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to count page views and measure loading speed. They set no cookies and store no IP address or personal data: a visit is recognised for one day through a hash that cannot be turned back into a person or followed to other sites, and speed measurements are aggregated per page. As nothing identifies you, they do not depend on the analytics choice above.
Third-Party Services
Our site may contain links to third-party services (for example referee profiles). These services have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.
Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information. However, no internet transmission is completely secure.
