Match report

Benetton Rugby and Dragons RFC shared the points in a 19-19 draw at Stadio Monigo on Friday evening, opening the new United Rugby Championship season with their third stalemate in nine meetings. The result extended a familiar pattern between the sides, who also drew 15-15 in Treviso last February.

The draw leaves Benetton sixth in the table after 16 rounds, while Dragons sit fifth. Christopher Allison took charge of the opening-round fixture in Treviso, where both sides earned two points from a hard-fought contest.
