History

Rugby in Amersfoort began with an 'English day' at the Eemland College in 1975, when pupils played their teachers; students of the school founded the club in 1977, and the school's tower is still in the club logo. Eemland played its first league match on 11 September 1977, an 18-10 win over the Utrecht students, and settled at Sportpark De Bokkeduinen in 1985. Back in the Ereklasse since 2019-20, it won its first national title in 2023 with a 31-15 final win over Haagsche RC. The club has about 500 members, some 200 of them juniors.
