History
DIOK — 'Doorzetten Is Onze Kracht', perseverance is our strength — was founded in Leiden on 28 March 1971 with help from the student club LSRG, and has played in the top flight since 1975-76. After a first title in 1981 it won ten in a row from 1989 to 1998, a run the club says earned it a place in the Guinness Book of Records; in 1993 twelve DIOK players were in the Dutch squad. The men were champions again in 2019 and 2022, the women won the national title in 2001, and the club has been a partner of Leicester Tigers since 2018. DIOK plays at Sportpark De Mors and has more than 700 members.
