History
Castricumse Rugby Club was started in 1968 by local sports organiser Kees Kabel under the name 'De Kannibalen' and formally founded on 1 September 1968; its first players changed in horse stables at Johanna's Hof on the Zeeweg. Cas RC were national champions in 1987, 1988 and 2000, then won five titles in a row from 2003 to 2007. The club relies heavily on players from its own youth section and also has a women's team in the top division.
