History

Rugby Club Frameries has played since 1969 in the heart of the Cité Piérard, in the Borinage coal-mining basin — hence its colours, 'Charbon et Or', coal and gold. It won the Belgian Cup in 1971, took five second-division titles (1971, 1980, 1991, 2004, 2018) and reached the championship final in 2009 and the Cup final in 1975 and 2012. Its women's team, 'les Coumères', started in 2002, was Belgian champion in 2009 and 2010 and won the women's Cup in 2019. With some 450 members, the club has an artificial pitch, a grass pitch with a covered stand and a training pitch.
